PowerBI BigQuery DATETIME errors

Hello, I'm running into 2 problems when PowerBI BigQuery connector on DATETIME fields.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

For the 2 problems described below I have tried:

• Granting myself GCP IAM role "BigQuery Read Session User" permissions as described here:
  • https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/BIgQuery-Account-Permissions/m-p/1390692
• Transforming datetime fields to datetime explicity in PowerBI Desktop.
• Querying and setting up dashboard using Bigquery connector in Google Data Studio. It works in Data Studio.

1st Problem: Error message when adding DateTime field to table.

• Error Message: OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataSource.Error] ERROR [HY000] [Microsoft][BigQuery] (131) Unable to authenticate with Google BigQuery Storage API. Check your account permissions..
• The error message goes away when I subset the table by selecting a Server_Name to filter on
  • No Server_Name Selected

2nd Problem: Error message when trying to filter on DateTime or when scrolling down table.

• Error Message: OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataSource.Error] ODBC: ERROR [42000] [Microsoft][BigQuery] (70) Invalid query: No matching signature for operator = for argument types: DATETIME, TIMESTAMP. Supported signature: ANY = ANY at [20:48].
  • If I scroll down the table, the table breaks and gives a different error message shown above.

  • Also, when I try to filter on a datetime field I get the same error message, but this breaks all the controls.

@amitchandak, Thank you for suggestion.

For the first problem, I have all the bigquery.readsessions.* permissions already but I'm still having errors. Its weird that the permission error goes away after I filter on a text field. 🤔
