Hi @elitesmitpatel ,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft Fabric Community.
Just checking in to see if you query is resolved by now. If not, please consider the following:
The error you're seeing is expected due to recent changes in Power BI Service. As per this official Microsoft Blog, uploading local Excel workbooks directly to a Power BI workspace is no longer supported.
If you're working with a local file, you’ll need to move it to OneDrive for Business or SharePoint and then connect or import it from there into your workspace.
Also, if you're looking for a more flexible approach, you can use a Lakehouse in Microsoft Fabric to upload your Excel file and then build your report or model based on that data.
Please make sure the Excel file has data formatted as proper tables and doesn’t include unsupported features like sheet protection or merged cells.
If the issue still persists after following the supported approach, feel free to share more details so we can look into it further.
Also thanks to @pankajnamekar25 for prompt response.
Hope this helps. Please reach out for further assistance.
Thank you.
Hello @elitesmitpatel
try this
Open your Excel file. Ensure your data is in table format: Select data > Press Ctrl + T > Tick "My table has headers". Save the file again as .xlsx. Go to Power BI Service > My Workspace > Upload > Local File > Excel File
