Power Query parameters

I need to figure out how to perform operation on query parameters. I undertand how to set them up for a query and input them like this for example; "&parameter1&".

But I want to be able to perform operations on parameter 1. So if for example parameter1 was the current year 2018, I would also want to be able to add in the M code the previous year of 2017. However when I try something like; "&parameter1 - 1&" I get an error.

Any help or direction would be great.

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous

Do you need to select 2018 from parameter, then filter the data with date 2018 and 2017?

Best Regards

Maggie

@Anonymous,

Essentially the & symbol means concatenation, so you have to do something like this:

" ...." & Parameter1 & " - 1" & " ...."
