Hi All,
I am having trouble with Power BI, Filtering data in Power Query is still loading all data into model, I tried filtering on a single row and filtering using parameter/s both resulted in the same result which is : Power Bi is loading all data no matter the filter .
* On the right- NotePad is countdistinct of rows (in Power query after filtering that need to be loaded) And on the left Power BI loading 79K rows !
How is this possible ? is it a bug ? I remember one time the filter did work and it loaded only filtered data, but now it isn't
anyone having this issue ?
Thanks in advance
@amitchandak Hi,
The database says the same number of rows as the power query. still Power Bi is loading the whole table .
Am I mising something ? By the way this doesn't happen when filter Top 30 rows for example - in this case normally Power BI loads only those rows to the model .
I also tried filtering to 1 Row in power query and still power bi is bringing the whole table .
what do you mean by Data view ? you mean in Power BI yes? It will take forever until I can access that tab ...
I am waiting for power Bi to load the whole 75K row table.. it's showing "loading 2,500 Rows from fact..."
@Shabb , a good way to check is to check the query folding - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/power-query-folding#determine-when-a-query-can-be-folde...
if query folded property, it should not load data to power bi
I am running on Oracle database ,sorry I don't understand why query folding is a problem in my case .
