Hi-
I have below question and not sure the answer. My answer is selected both division and roles as join key, and the join kind can be left join..But actually I dont understand the question well that it requires to remove duplicate rows..
Can anyone help on this? Thanks!
There're two Microsoft Power BI queries named Employee and Retired Roles.
We need to merge the Employee query with the Retired Roles query. The solution must ensure that duplicate rows in each query are removed.
Which column and Join Kind should you use in Power Query Editor?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Before merging:
In both Employee and Retired Roles queries, select the columns you care about (Division + Role) ➔ Remove Duplicates (Home tab ➔ Remove Rows ➔ Remove Duplicates)
Merge:
Merge Employee with Retired Roles
Join on Division and Role
Join Kind: Left Outer Join (all from Employee, matching from Retired Roles)
