Hey guys,
my power bi report was working great, until i connected to a sharepoint folder to pull in some excel files, and to merge them into a single query..
ever since pulling in the excel files, i am getting "Formula.Firewall: Query 'XYZ' (step 'Changed Type') references other queries or steps, so it may not directly access a data source. Please rebuild this data combination." ,
as well as
"Unexpected Error, Evaluation was cancelled"
these errors are annoying because if i click refresh, or click through my "applied steps", then click refresh, they go away..
if i don't click refresh in my power query editor, and make sure all my sources are clear of errors, my report won't refresh on the report view.
its just annoying and time consuming to deal with, since i have ~14 queries, plus the 4 spreadsheets from the sharepoint folder, and the only thing i have to do is click "refresh" one by one until each error disappears.
does anyone know a solution or setting or something to make it better?
Solved! Go to Solution.
you can change the security settings for the workbook, it may also help if all the sources you use have the same security status (Public/Organizational etc.)
Hi @aar0n,
Please also refer to Formula-Firewall-workarounds and Problem-Merging-Queries-Formula-Firewall-Query-references-other.
Best Regards,
