Power Bi Exchange connector - send and receive email count by month

Hi,

I have been looking for a solution to allow a team leader to see the send and receive results of a shared mailbox, I originally tried PowerShell but It doesn't supply the results needed, I then saw a post that Power Bi can connect to Exchange and display data about the mailbox.

I created the dashboard, connected the data to the mailbox and then set about grabbing the  send and receive data, but i then noticed the results for each month were the same result for send and receive.

Hi  @Mik-Powis ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community.

Regarding to the post, I'm not very clear what steps you has applied.

In my experience, you need to pay attention that if your mails are also from sub folders, you should select them when you connect to. Refer to below.

If your mails are from a sub folder in 'Inbox' folder, then, you will get nothing from 'inbox' path.

Hi Stephen,

the data connection is collecting all the mail data including Inbox and Sent items and I believe i need to create a filter or measure to grab all emails in Inbox and all emails in Sent Items but the visuals were showing the same results even though they were setup for two different data sets.

as a test I created two new data sets one targets the Inbox only and the other targets the Sent Items only, then created a second slicer so one does received and the other does Sent Items, now this now gives different results for each but now I have a new issue that the connector isn't grabbing all the email data, for example all sent emails in 2024 in the data table and the visual results shows as 16 emails but when i check the sent items folder in the actual account it has 35 emails.

I'm guessing this is a floor in the data collection?
