Power Bi Dropdown List Slicer

Hi All,
I have a power bi slicer,which is a drop down list with search option.This slicer has a customer column and has 4 millions records in it.When we search a customer by typing the name in the search bar,it takes 11 seconds for the slicer to give the list of customers that match the search criteria.I wnat to improve the search time  and make it faster.
solution that I have tried so far are
1.Applying topN in the filter condintion and filtering top 1000 cutomers with highest volume.Did not work.It shows just top 1000 customers in the dropwn list.
2.Found a third party search visual.,called Tile search slicer by TME AG,but it has certain limitation for free version.

Can someone please help to improve the search time/performnace of this dropdown list search option.

Hi @Nila ,

Your 4 million rows of data may be too much for Power BI, which is the main reason for your slow query. If your connection mode is Import mode, I suggest changing it to DirectQuery mode if possible, so that the query can be passed to the data source for better query capabilities. If you are already in DirectQuery mode or you cannot convert the connection mode to DirectQuery, then I think the only effective way is ExcelMonke's method, and the effect of other methods may be minimal.

Hello, 
You can consider improving performance by breaking out the slicers into categories. So for example, you can instruct your end user to first select an "Industry" slicer (e.g. banking, professional services, etc.) and have that slicer filter down the customer slicer into something more manageable.
