Power BIs captive SQL Server Analysis Service

It seems that when Power BI is started, it starts an instance of SQL Server Analysis Services, running on some (random?) high port, and listening on 127.0.0.1.

Is it possible to have this instance of SSAS listen on a specified port? On the machines non-localhost IP address? How is this done?

I would like to be able to connect to the SSQS instance from another machine, perhaps there is some other way to do it?

thanks,

@durrin

I don’t think it is possible to make it on a specified port. It always uses a random port number.

I think this document may be helpful to you.

Herbert
