Power BI connection using Rest API with token authentication - how to

I'm new to Power BI. I need to learn how to create a Rest API using token authentication using JSON connection to a web application, and use those tables to bring into Power BI and create a dashboard. I currently use spreadsheets downloaded from the web app, but would like to use the API connection to create a seamless update to the power bi datasets. 

 

Thanks for any assistance.
