Power BI - How to hide table columns and visual based on who is viewing the report?

Hi,

I have been given the task of producing a Power BI report that shows the table and visuals per region. However, depending on the user, I must show all divisions in that region or a subset of the divisions. I have shown an example below.

User ONE can see all divisions (North, North East, North West) so they'll get to see a table with all 3 columns and 3 charts, as per below:
3Columns.jpg

User TWO can only see the North and North East divsions so they'll get to see a table with only 2 columns and only 2 charts, as per below:
2Columns.jpg

Is there a way to hide columns and visuals based on who is viewing the report. I'm aware of Row Level Security (RLS) to restrict who can see what data but this question is who can see what visuals?

Can this be achieved, and how?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous ,

If the data a user can see is empty that is filtered by RLS, the columns will be empty too. Is that enough? Maybe you don't need to hide the column.

Thanks for your responses.

I don't particularly wish to have an empty column showing even if it does reduce the report creation to just a single report. As the total number of reports will be three I don't see this as too much of an overhead so I will create the reports individually and show each report based on the user access.

@Anonymous  there is no way to hide the column but you can hideh the value in the columns with DAX, you can set measure value to blank based on selected options.
