Power BI Desktop salesforce object connector "please specify how to connect"

As a saleforce admin I am able to login to the sandbox from power BI. When I click connect it give me an error saying "Please specify how to connect". Any idea why this is happening. I was able to connect to otehr sandbox instances before.

Just use https://test.salesforce.com for all sandbox accounts and it works.

how can i use saleforce connector to go with gateway and refresh dashboard data on PBI service

I had the exact same issue. By accident, I tried to connect again after making sure the custom URL was all lowercase. I know, it does not make much sense, but I no longer received the error.

Hi @sananthv,

Do you login into a custom domain? If that is the case, the ability to login into a custom or sandbox domain is not currently supported in Power BI. An idea about this issue has been submitted in the following link, please vote it.

I'm having the same problem too, connecting Power BI desktop to a custom and sandbox domain for Salesforce. 

The comment in the idea forum link you posted shows:

Huzzah! This now works in the June 4 2015 update. Would be nice if it would REMEMBER that custom domain once provided. It's never gonna change for me. Gotta keep pasting it in there every time. 😞

Can you confirm that this has been implemented? Or is this still a known limitation in the current Power BI desktop version?
