I encountered some problems while trying to perform tasks I’ve been doing for months. After investigating the queries for hours and trying to resolve the issue, I realized that my Power BI Desktop version was one that hadn’t been published yet:
How could this happen? After downloading the latest version available in the official website, the problem was resolved, and the queries started working again.

Hi all,
This situation has been resolved and you can download the Power BI Desktop executable from the Download Center or you can use the App Store to download it.

And, as far as I can see this aug24 QFE2 version does not bring anything new.
Those who expected the 'customize appearance' feature, aka 'dark mode', will need to wait for another future version.
Now the confusing number/name convention gets a new chapter.
On the download site, a new AUGUST 2024 (QFE 2?🙄 this late?) is available, version: 2.135.7627.0.
The version number is much higher than the previous aug24 version 2.132.x. And even higher than the accidently published oct24 version ( 2.134.7447.1).
The executable files were created on the 19th of September. Imho, late enough in the month to call it SEPTEMBER 2024 version, instead.
Are we still going to see a September 24 version ahead of the European Microsoft Fabric Community Conference, next week? 🤔 Next chapter...
Hi All,
Regarding the anomaly of the version of Power BI desktop obtained from the App Store, the product team has clarified and is working on it, regarding the alternative method, you can download the Power BI Desktop executable file (version:2.132.1053.0) from the download center.
Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center
When you download Power BI desktop using the App Store, Windows automatically downloads the latest released version in the background, so you are always using the latest version.

Guys, I solved this issue as others said: uninstall your Power BI desktop, download the August 2024 version here (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494) (not the Microsoft App Store, for me it didnt worked), and then test again. This October 2024 version messed up all my Snowflake sources and reports, so now with the right version its working (version 2.132.1053.0). Best!
I still having issues with this update issue. I downloaded the latest version, however all my reports connected to snowflake are down 😞
I've got the same problem today after updating Windows 11.
It's broken with Version: 2.132.1053.0 64-bit (August 2024).
Looks more like a Windows update issue rather than a PowerBI version issue.
A quick update here. I forgot to report I got it working by using the version of PowerBI that's on the Power BI web site. The version from the Microsoft Store is definitely broken, despite them having the same version number.
Same issue here. But a bit more blocking: probably the7447 update installed a new version of Npgsql that is not compatible with the rolled-back version of PowerBI. Is there any fix for this? Can't connect to Postgresql in the new version.
Hello @Lucas-S ,
it was released by accident and the rolled back to the august update.
