Power BI Data Gateway Hosting Options

The company I work at uses an on-premises Power BI gateway.  It is installed on another machine that I do not have access to. I would like to know the options apart from using a physical machine in an inaccessible location. I have heard of virtual machines for this purpose but do not have enough experience with the steps to take for suggesting this to my company. Can someone further elaborate on the options available and what is widely used to host the Power BI Data Gateway?

You can use the vitrual network to use the gateway, but it will be available only in Power BI Premium workspaces, Premium Per User (PPU), and Power BI Embedded for public preview. you can refer to the following link,
