Power BI Connect to SAP t-code

Power BI cannot connect directly to an SAP t-code because a t-code is only a front-end transaction, not a data source. Power BI can connect only to SAP backend data such as SAP tables, CDS views, BW queries, or HANA views.If direct access is not allowed, a workaround is using Power Automate Desktop to run the t-code, export data to Excel, save it to SharePoint/OneDrive, and then connect Power BI to that file but this is not recommended for enterprise use.

Thank you for your reply. Is this not recommended for security reasons in a corporate environment?

Yes. It is not recommended in a corporate environment mainly due to security, stability, and governance concerns. Power Automate Desktop relies on SAP GUI automation, which requires user credentials, has no row-level security enforcement, is prone to breaking when SAP screens change, and is difficult to audit or support at scale.For enterprise scenarios, accessing SAP backend tables, CDS views, BW queries, or HANA views is the secure and supported approach.
I'll need to check if the t-code can process tables or views. If not, I'll need to develop it to download Excel files using SAP GUI automation. Thank you.
