Power BI Button Tooltip Does Not Support Multiline Display

Hello Team,

I am using Power BI in the workspace (Power BI Service) on a Windows system. When configuring a button's tooltip, I would like to display the tooltip text across multiple lines (for example, having the content in parentheses appear on a new line).

However, I have found that neither keyboard shortcuts (such as Alt+Enter, Ctrl+Enter, or Shift+Enter) nor pasting multi-line text from an external editor enable line breaks in the tooltip. All the text is always displayed in a single line, regardless of formatting.

This limitation makes it difficult to present longer or more structured tooltip information in a clear and readable way

The issue I am facing is just like this ticker: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/Display-Text-Tooltip-when-hovering-on-quot-i-quot-...

Is there any way to enable or support multiline display in button tooltips ? If not, is this feature planned for future updates?

Thank you very much for your attention and support!

Hi @mshao, I've just tested it and confirm that the issue remains: "tooltip" under "Action" section doesn't support multiline. Alternatively, you can use the help header icon and connect it to a tooltip page:

See pbix attached if needed and good luck with your project!

@Sergii24  Thank you very much for the suggestion — it's a great approach.
One minor downside, however, is that it requires users to move their mouse twice before they can access the relevant information.
Would you happen to have any alternative ideas that might help reduce the number of user interactions?
