Point to point graph

Hi all, i'm trying to create a simple graph. In Excel you can do this with a simple scatter with line graph, however i can't find anything similar in PowerBI.

I have multiple categories, and each category has an X and Y position for 2 years. I was to display the value (x,y) for year 1, and the (x,y) for year 2 with a line connecting them.

Within PowerBi, just using a scatter i can put the category into the legend, my year metric in as the detail, and the x as x-axis, and y as y-axis. This shows all of the points i want, however i'd like to connect these with a line.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

You can add this custom visual.

Hi @HDeusi ,

When you refer to connect is to pass a ratio, median, average type of line?

Check the Analitycs pane in the  Scatter chart.

Hello @MFelix

I don't - i mean simply to have a line between the datapoints. I have data for this year (2020), and a year in the future (2021), and want to visualise how this changes across 25 different metrics, seeing how they change over the year period. Much like a scatter graph in excel, each catergory had two markers, i would like a line between them, so you can easily identify the change.

I hope i answered your question!

Hi @HDeusi ,

Don't believe this is possible with the standard visualization.

Have you tried to look at the custom visuals?
