I am trying to call a REST API through custom Power Query M. I don't want any "helpful" wizards, I literally just want to make a plain HTTP request without Power BI forcing me to get its approval with the credentials first. I've specified all the authentication headers myself already in my "Web.Contents" call, I don't need this stupid dialog to "help" me authenticate. None of the authentication methods in the "Access Web Content" dialog apply to this API, and they're not working. The API is tested and working find outside of BI.
Sounds like you just want to edit the M code using Advanced Editor:

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the reply, didn't know about that function. With that I get the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".
This is the function I came up with for calling this API:
let
Source = (path as text, query as record) =>
let
response = WebAction.Request("get", "https://xxxxxx.xxx/v4_6_release/apis/3.0", [
Headers = [
Authorization = "Basic XXXXXXXX",
#"Content-Type" = "application/json",
clientId = "XXXXXXXX"
],
Query = query,
RelativePath = path
]),
json = Json.Document(response)
in
json
in
Source
