Parsing error: We couldn't parse the input provided as a Date value: Friday, March 26, 2024

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to change the Week Ending Date column in his data set from ABC123 to Date in Power Query. But I have noticed that the values change for everything except for March and I don't understand why.

Original:

When I change it to date:

I checked if there are any spacing issues and there aren't.

Let's say prior to changing the type, I replace "Friday, March 26, 2024" with 3/26/2024:

Then it works when I change it to date:

But let's say that someone is trying to update the info and runs into the same error above, what does he or she do? And how do I avoid this from the beginning? Is it due to the imported Excel Sheet? Or is the type messing something up?

Please help me fix this. Thanks.

Hi @powerJR88 ,

The error is because March 26 is Tuesday instead of Friday. As a result, an error is returned when detected.

To avoid this, fill in the correct days of the week.

Hi @powerJR88
Can you share the Excel without sensitive data?
Even just a wee end column will be enough.
You can save it in some kind of public cloud and share bia link
