Parallelperiod ,dateadd is not working

Hello,

     I have been trying to get the previous month sales based on the year selection . But Dax seems to be correct but i am not getting any values except blanks . I tried with Parallelperiod , Dateadd ,sameperiodlast Still getting the blank instead of sum of sales . Could you please let me know where am i going wrong here ? w

@Anonymous , You need to use date table joined to date of your table and then try meausre like. moth in viusal should come from date table

 

Prev.Yr Month Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Orders[Sales]),SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR(Date[Date]))

Right-click on your Date table --> Click on Mark as Date table --> Select the Date column --> Validate --> ok.
this should solve your problem.
