Page navigation with button whilst preserving filter values
- Anonymous2 years ago
Hi jen_blue
I wonder if you're talking about a sync slicer.
On the details page, use the same country filter as on the start page.
You can do this by using the "sync slicer" feature in Power BI.

If you're still having problems, provide some dummy data and the desired outcome. It is best presented in the form of a table.

Hi jen_blue
Daniel29195 Thank you very much for your prompt reply and here allow me to share some of it.
To implement dynamic page navigation in Power BI without using bookmarks, you can utilize the page navigation feature as well as the conditional formatting settings.
First, create a table containing the names of the pages to navigate to. This table will act as a slicer for navigation. This slicer will allow users to select the page they want to navigate to.
NavigationTable =
DATATABLE (
"PageName", STRING,
{
{"US Detail Page"},
{"Canada Detail Page"},
{"UK Detail Page"},
{"Australia Detail Page"}
}
)
Insert a button on the start page. Go to the Action property of the button and set the Type to Page Navigation. Create a measure to capture the selected page.
SelectedPage = SELECTEDVALUE(NavigationTable[PageName])
Use conditional formatting to apply this metric to the button's “Destination”.
You can now select the slicer on the navigation page and use the buttons to navigate to the page.

Thank you Anonymous for your reply and detailed instructions.
However, to clarify my goal here I was wondering if it is possible and if so how to have the setup other way round like you explained. So, that I have starting page for US, Canada, UK and Australia and from those starting pages the user can then navigate to identical detail pages except those have inherited the country filter from the starting page.
