  • Hi Sarah_He

    It occurs due to memory after refresh if dataset size increases. Power BI might successfully refresh data but fail during save because of a memory spike during model compression. Try doing a Save As with a new name, clear cache, and close other applications to free RAM, and reduce model size if possible

    Check Auto Recovery

    • Open Power BI → it may show Recovered files on startup
    • Or go to:
      C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\AutoRecovery
    • You might find a recent version there

    Note- AI helped me in formating this answer.

    Hi Sarah_He ,

    Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.

    Please try below things to fix the issue.

    1. Remove all custom visuals and try to save the report. Custom visuals can be cause of file corruption.

    2. Auto-generated date tables can be cause for corruption. File --> Options and settings --> Options
    Under Data Load --> Uncheck Auto date/time , Restart Power BI Desktop
    Open the file --> Save

    I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.

    Regards,

    Dinesh
