PBI default dates formats

Where PBI hold this info? and how to change this default formats to my custom?

@Analitika , yes that is true that will make is a string. One of  the way to keep qtr as the date is Qtr Start Date

I don't think you can change the Date to Quarter format in Column tools. You have touse either Mquery or Calculated column.

@Analitika , I doubt there is an option for that. It comes based on regional settings.

 

You define your own format using format options refer:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-custom-format-strings

own formats is not working in buggy PBI as always interpreted as string, but i need a date YYYY-\QQ
