PBI Desktop Visualization Errors

Hello all,

I've been having this error repeatedly display whenever I open my PBI file. Has anyone else seen anything like this and know how I can resolve it? I thought it was something wrong with my JSON theme at first but changing it to a default theme still displays the error. I'd appreciate any help with this!

Feedback Type:
Frown (Error)

JS Error Message:
Failed to execute 'check' on 'FontFaceSet': Could not resolve '16px Segoe UI (Bold)' as a font.

Error Message:
An error occurred while rendering the report.

Stack Trace:

Hi @mia_chen,

I'd like to suggest you check system font folder to ensure your device contains specific font which defined in json theme.

If not exist, you can download and install to current device, then choose default theme to remove custom theme style.

BTW, you can also use compression program to open pbix file, then navigate to 'Report\StaticResources\RegisteredResources\' and remove listed json file to remove custom theme effect.

Hi @Anonymous,

Please share the json code of theme and pbix file here so that we can test and troubleshooting on it.

Hello Xiaoxin,

I believe I found the issue. I was previously using Segoe (Bold) as a font family.

"pivotTable":
{"*":
"title":
[{"fontColor":{"solid":{"color":"4B4E53"}},
"fontFamily":"Segoe UI (Bold)",
"fontSize":9}]
}

I've since changed it to Segoe UI Black and it is now working correctly.

Thank you!

Hello,

Please be aware that 'Segoe Black' and 'Segoe Bold' are not the same. If you do want 'Segoe Bold', below is the solution.

"fontFamily":"'Segoe UI Bold', wf_segoe-ui_bold, helvetica, arial, sans-serif"

Thx

Hello Xiaoxin,

I have the same problem, it works for other font family, but not 'segoe(bold)'. Below is my json file.

"title":[{
"show":true,
"fontColor":{"solid":{"color":"#FFFFFF"}},
"background":{"solid":{"color":"#3ca8a7"}},
"alignment":"center",
"fontFamily":"Segoe(Bold)",
"fontSize":9
}]
