Ordering of the columns in Table

Hello,

Currently, we are facing issue related to ordering of column in Table visual while implementing dynamic columns (Add/Remove column from list which is created using Field parameters).

Here I mention the issue of ordering.

Note : In the screen below the left side is representing Slicer visual and right side is representing Table visual.

  1. I have checked Name column from Slicer. it added at 1st position in table.

2.Again, I have added Brand column it is added after Name column.

3.But if I add Body Type Column after selecting Name and Brand It will added at Last.

Here, our requirement is that the order of columns which are added in table should remain in the same order as what displayed in slicer.

Ex. I have selected Body Type checkbox from the slicer after the selection of Name and Brand columns.

Our expectation is bosy type column should be added in the table at 2nd position (between Name and Brand columns), but it is added after the Name and Brand columns.

Please suggest solution.

Thanks,

Dhwani

Hi,

you need to create a table with the order the columns are needed in, then link this to the current table and use sort by column on the column tools ribbon.

I recently wrote a blog about this which explains step by step: https://github.com/DOLEARY85/Power-BI-Replicate-Excel-Table

hope this helps,

If I answered your question, please mark my post as solution, Appreciate your Kudos 👍
