What are the drawbacks of using open source BI Tools?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @powerbiexpert22 ,
Thanks to @lbendlin for their replies and allow me to provide another insight:
Open source BI tools have the advantages of lower initial cost, flexibility, and embeddability, but unfortunately, no solution is without flaws. Here are the disadvantages of open source BI:
1. maintenance. The worst thing about a homegrown system is that it is also self-managed. Open source tools require a strong support team of software developers, IT staff, and users who are committed to keeping them up and running.
2. Costs accumulate. While the initial cost may be low, open source BI software does have the disadvantage of long-term costs.
3. Integration. While users are free to create their own integrations with any other system they want, open source BI software typically doesn't have as many (if any) built-in integrations as enterprise solutions.

You will want to be a bit more specific. What license type?
