Starting with the September update of PBI Desktop, I'm getting the following error when refreshing my data:
DataSource.Error: AnalysisServices: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I've been using PBI Desktop for several months, and I generally refresh data at the beginning of the month. In October, I got this error message when I tried to refresh (using the September PBI update). After finding no solution, I rolled back to the August version and everything was fine again. I just installed the November update and tried refreshing to see if the problem has been solved, however, the same error message reappeared.
Can anybody tell me if this is an issue with Power BI, or if there's anything I can do to resolve the problem? There are some nice feature updates/additions in the November version that I would like to use, and I don't want to be stuck in the August version indefinitely.
By the way, the query also works fine from Excel.
Hi soundguy2, did you fixed the issue?
Hi @soundguy2,
It is hard to reproduce your issue from your description, please provide more detail content to help us clarify your scenario.
BTW, if this issue caused with power bi update, please create a support ticket and share the trace logs of different versions to power bi team as the detail contents to get further support.

Xiaoxin Sheng
