Hi all,
My Power BI reports have all off a sudden stopped 'refreshing' in desktop and on the service. In dekstop i am getting the error - ORA-ORA-12154: Cannot connect to database. Cannot find alias XXXX in Data Sources, , EZConnect. https://docs.oracle.com/error-help/db/ora-12154/
I am connecting to the Oracle Database server and it has been working fine until this morning. Nothing has changed in TNSNAMES or SQLNET.
I am not sure why all of a sudden this has happened, any thoughts/what i should be checking?
Thanks!

Hello,
I had the same problem, it's the september update that broke the oracle connection.
Install a previous version of powerBI from this link:
For me, the July version is working fine
Is there a solution to the automatic refresh from the service? The refresh works in desktop by installing the July update but the auto refreshes in the service are failing. No changes were made to the on premise gateway and no changes made to connections.
It is a blender mistake, how microsoft forgot to test the connectivity against one of the known database in the industry when they release a new version? I have reverted to July version ,worked fine.
I am having the same issues. Installing the July version fixed the problem for now.

I was having this issue last week, this morning I closed my desktop app, opened MS Store and it downloaded a 2.92mb patch and now it works for me in the September version
This is very unfortunate that Microsoft released this version with this error. I had the microsoft store version that automatically updates. I removed that and downloaded the July version and that solved it for now. I hope MS fixes this very soon.
Thanks. Installing the July version has worked and refreshing as should
