OPTIMIZATION TIPS AND TRICKS

What are the tips and tricks to create a more optimized model, report and dashboard?

Also Please share the known best practices

Hello @dilshad_ahmed ,

 

The ones I would Share with you are the following:

 

* always push your transformations backwards as much as you can, like if it could happen in the datasource then do it there, else in the power Query.

* Perform a star schema model whenever possible.

* If it can be a measure then don't do it as a calculated column, so it won't take space in the file.

 

* Minimise the objects you have in a reports, you could work the design on a seperate tool like figma or power point and the import the design as a background image to avoid high loading time.
