OLE DB or ODBC:[DataFormat.Error] cell value #REF invalid

Query Editor loads fine no errors. Load fails after 20 minutes with this error

OLE DB or ODBC:[DataFormat.Error] cell value #REF invalid

 

I am appending 90+ excel files with 1800 Columns and unable to find which file or column is causing this. 

 

how else can I isolate the root file or column?

use the try ... otherwise ... pattern

use the [Column]?  pattern 

 

Cut your file list into halfs, quarters, etc to faster identify the offending file.

Sounds like you may want to unpivot your files before combining? 1800 columns is way too much.
