OData URL Filter using OR

I'm trying to pass through a filter in an OData URL. Any idea why my syntax filter is being ignored?

/WS_Project_Ledger_Entries?filter=Global_Dimension_2_Code eq '1004' or Global_Dimension_2_Code eq '1009' or Global_Dimension_2_Code eq '1504' or Global_Dimension_2_Code eq '8117' or Global_Dimension_2_Code eq '8120'")
