OData Timeout Problem

Hi,

We keep our data in SAP. That's why, we use OData. But our data is multi-row (150,000+ rows, 450,000+ rows). I'm getting a timeout error when connecting these tables to Power BI. I couldn't find a way to bind the data. Do you have any suggestions on this matter?

Or would it be better to connect our data in a way other than OData? There were people who did not recommend using Odata. Is using OData a wrong decision?

It was said that it is better to extract data with ODBC Driver. Does it make more sense to connect teradata with ODBC, at least for big data?

Thank you in advance

Hi @dilaraa12 ,

You can  use other methods to connect to your SAP data, such as ODBC or OLE DB. These methods may offer more flexibility and functionality than OData, but they may also have some drawbacks, such as:

They may require additional drivers or software to be installed on your machine or gateway
They may not support query folding or server-side processing, which can affect performance and efficiency
They may not provide metadata discovery or automatic relationship detection, which can require manual configuration or editing
