Hi all,
I'm experiencing something strange with power bi that I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I have a variance and variance % metric between two columns in my dataset. I have created a parameter so the user can enter what % variance or greater they want to see, and have made the metrics to where they will calculate where the variance is greater than or equal to the user entered percentage.
What is strange is if I enter a variance of 20% or higher, save, close the file, and reopen the file, the numbers stay the same. However, if I enter 0% or 10% into the parameter, save, close the file, and reopen the file, the numbers populate differently than when I saved the file.
It shouldn't be the metrics since the numbers show correctly when the variance entered is 20% or higher. It's almost like Power Bi is not fully calculating the metrics when the .pbix is opened, depending on the entered variance.
Hi @dgilm33 ,
Based on your description, I created parameters, adjusted different values, saved and opened them again, but the situation you described did not occur.
Please make sure you are using the latest version of Power BI Desktop, here is the download link: Download Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center.
If the problem persists, please share the pbix file with reference data so that we can better help you solve the problem.
Best Regards,
Clara Gong
