Don't show Tooltip when hovering over totals and subtotals in Matrix visual

Hello,

I have a Matrix visual with a list of projects grouped by Progamme with amounts and numbers of projects in the columns for this year and last year. See screenshot below. 2024-08, 2023-13 are project numbers.

I made a Tooltip page with a table visual showing more information about a project, like its description and the entity handing in the project. When hovering with the mouse over the numbers or amounts in the Matrix visual, the info from the Tooltip is showing. When hovering over the subtotals in the Matrix visual, the Tooltip willl show the information about several projects, but this info doesn't fit in the box and you can't scroll through it. Therefore I want to turn of the Tooltip when hovering over the Subtotals (or have it show a message like: To see project info hover over the amounts of a single project). I tried several thing with filters, but yet to no avail. Can anyone help?

Hi Yilong. Thanks a lot for all the effort trying to replicate and give a solution for my problem. However, it doesn't resolve my problem. Possibly because you have only one entry per programme per year, while I have more. I'll show you the behaviour of the Tooltip in my case.

If hovering over a subtotal it shows details about more than one project which is confusing especially because you can see only a few, while they may be more, but you can't scoll through them. See here:

When hovering over a single entry, after clickking the +-sign to show all projects for a programme, the tooltip shows just for the single project, which is what I want. But I don't want the Tooltip to show (or have it show a phrase like: to see details about a single project, hover over a single project entry) when hovering over the Subtotals, because that will only create confusion.

Hi @hdwa ,

I create a table as you mentioned.

Then I add it into the matrix visual.

Next I create another page named Tooltip and put a table on it.

Then go to the first page and set it up to achieve the effect you want.

Hi Yilong,

I just noticed that you included the pbix file of the table you created. I opened it and added an extra line to the project table and added ProjectNumber to the rows in the matrix visual. (I can't attach the new pbix file here, probably I don't have the permission to do so) and the same issue appears of showing several projects when hovering over the subtotals as you can see here:

Here you see also the project I added, 2024-10 with amount 17000.
