New users help

Hello,

I'm new and creating my first report and running into a few issues:

1. I created a Multi-row card with three Fields (AUM, NUMBER ACCOUNTS, ACCOUNTS OPENED YTD).

a. Is there any way to format the AUM field as currency without decimals.

b. Is there any way to format the NUMBER ACCOUNTS and ACCOUNTS OPENED YTD with commas and now decimal.

2.  I created a clustered column chart.

a. Is there any way to sort the chart values in descending order?

3. I created a Line chart but the Value is only giving me the Count or Count(Distinct) option.

    a. Is there any way to the SUM available in the Value drop list?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

In Desktop, go to the modeling tab and you can set the formatting there for currency, decimals, etc. You are only getting count because your Value is not a number but is text

Thanks, changing the data from varchar to decimal fixed the line chart.

I don't see the modeling tab on the desktop. I just have File and home

On the left side, the table looking icon is your modeling area. Go there, click on your table click on your column and then you should have a Modling tab in the ribbon.

Strange.  I only have two Icons on the left Reports and relationships

@tmullady You should see this:

Are you using something like Direct Query? What is your data source?

I'm using connect to SQL server.

I see the ICON when I first open the report then it disappears.

Has to be that you are using Direct Query or something that is not actually importing into Power BI. Try copying some of the data, paste it into a CSV or something, even Enter Data and see what you get. Otherwise, maybe you need to repair Desktop.

That doesn't sound right at all. You are missing a very important icon there.
