hi everyone,
i m trying to fix one issue i m facing with my pbi dashboard. Currently i m having Trends page and Details page. In my trends page i have line charts and the data is from one view called X, and in my details page the data is from a view called Y and my two views X and Y are not related to each other. X and Y are separately connected to one more view lets say Z. So in the Trends page for my line charts i m using date on the X axis from the Date Dimension table. Date dimension table has a relationship with view X and doesn't have any active relationship with view Y. So due to this when i drill through from any point on the Trends page my details page is not giving me results for that particular month. My Y view doesnt have a suitable date field to get it related to the date dimension table. It has six different date fields so I couldnt establish a relationship between view Y and Date Dimension table. Help me with how can i achieve it?

Hi @PBIUser34
It’s quite hard to understand exactly what you’re trying to achieve without a sample PBIX file, but in general:
Drillthrough works by filtering the target page based on the exact context of the visual from the source page.
If your dataset has six different date fields, you may need to create six separate drillthrough pages — one for each date context.
If your goal is to change or override the drillthrough context, there are some workarounds you can explore, such as the method shown in this video:

If your case is different, you might want to consider switching to bookmarks or a page navigator instead of drillthrough.
To get more specific help, you can share a version of your PBIX file with all sensitive data removed and upload it to any public cloud service (e.g., OneDrive, Google Drive, WeTransfer) so others can review your model structure.

hi @PBIUser34
A bridge dimension table is required to connect the two fact tables, and this relationship can be established either physically or virtually. For example, an Actuals table may link to the Calendar table through the Date column, while the Budget table connects through a YearMonth column since the budget data is aggregated monthly rather than daily.
Please see the attached pbix.

- Create a disconnected Month-Year table for drill-through.
- Use it as the drill-through field on the Details page.
- In view Y, write a DAX measure that filters rows where any of the six date fields match the selected Month-Year.
- Optionally, create a unified date column or use Field Parameters to let users choose which date to filter by.
