I have an Excel file with Programs and the Projects that roll up under it. I created a Matrix Visual for this but it's not working as expected. I want to list the program name only without any associated data in the columns of the matrix. Only the project rows should list the associated data in the columns of the matrix.
Requesting guidance on how I should fix this. Please see attached links to the pbix file and the excel data file.

Hi @Rnaval ,
Based on my understanding, it seems like you are working with a spreadsheet that has multiple tabs and you are using drill-through pages to display data for programs and projects. It sounds like you want to know if you can use the same tab in the spreadsheet for both the program drill-through and the primary data, and pull the data from the first line of the program name. Without knowing the specifics of your spreadsheet and data structure, it's difficult for me to give a definitive answer. However, in general, it is possible to use the same tab in a spreadsheet for multiple purposes and pull data from specific cells or rows based on certain criteria.

Hi @Rnaval ,
According to your description, you want no information to be displayed when you are at the Program / Project Name level in the matrix, and detailed information to be displayed when you are at the Project Name level, right?
Here we create a measure using the example of displaying Agency information.
Agency Measure = IF(ISINSCOPE('Sheet1 (2)'[Our Project Name])=FALSE(),BLANK(),MAX('Sheet1 (2)'[Agency]))

Thanks...Is it possible to suppress the data in the columns even when the program \ project level is collapsed?
Hi @Rnaval ,
Sorry I don't quite understand what you mean, as my screenshot shows, the Agency doesn't show the data when the program \ project level is collapsed.

Here's a screenshot showing all columns having data when the program name is collapsed.
Hi @Rnaval ,
Due to the design, it is not supported to directly have columns not display data when collapsing the program name. You need to create measures to place on the visual object instead of columns.

It seems it is possible according to what Greg Deckler provided in message #2, see screenshot below.
Hi @Rnaval ,
I apologize for misunderstanding your point.
You need to click on [Row headers] -> [Options] -> Turn off [Stepped layout] in the [format your visual] pane.

Thanks, This format is different than what I expected. I'll keep the current format as it saves space on the matrix visual. I final question - I have drill thru pages - one for Program and one for project - For the Program drill thru, I use a different tab in the spreadsheet (Program Status Tab) for the data, can I instead use the same tab of the spreadsheet (Primary Tab) and pull the data from the first line of the program name?
