Need Help Creating Matrix layout in Power BI

Hi Team,

I am new to Power BI and currently working with multiple tables. I need to create a single Table/Matrix visual that shows Sales and Purchase separately — first displaying monthly Sales quantities, followed by monthly Purchase quantities, similar to the attached image .

I attempted to build this structure but couldn’t achieve . Requesting your guidance on how to set this up in Power BI. If possible, please also suggest a relevant YouTube.

@SanketSk , You need to use the calculation group. Just create a calculation group with your measures and then you can use them on top of the Column field

Thankyou @GeraldGEmerick  and @amitchandak for your response to the query.

To set up this layout, make sure your date table is correctly marked as a Date table and has relationships with both the Sales and Purchase tables. This will allow the monthly grouping to work properly in the Matrix. You can also create a disconnected helper table for Sales and Purchase labels (such as Sales Qty and Purchase Qty) and use SWITCH() in a single measure to return the right value based on the selected label. This lets you show both Sales and Purchase sections in one Matrix without combining the tables. Place the helper table values in the Rows, the Date hierarchy (Month) in the Columns, and the SWITCH measure in Values. This approach works even if you’re not using Calculation Groups.

@SanketSk You can achieve this with a separate table that contains your column hierarchy and then a measure that determines what to display, Sales or Purchases and for which month.
