Hello,
I have a multiple line graph (sales by month) where each line is a year (2016-2020). Whenever I hover over a data point, it will provide a summary of value by year at that point in time in a breakout box. However, it shows 2016 as the top result, and 2020 the bottom - is there a way to sort these the other way around, with 2020 at the top?
This is mainly for us on mobiles, where only the top 3 years are visible.
Many thanks,
Mike

Hi @PBIMike ,
Based on my test, it is by default and can't be modified. As a workaround, you can create a page-level tooltip (refer to the link provided by az38). You can create a table visual for the tooltip and sort it.
Would you please vote for the similar idea in Power BI forum which has been submitted to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

That's a shame, thanks both. I've voted for the custom legend ordering you linked me to.
are you referring to the tooltip?
you could also create a tooltip and then you have control to sort it yourself

Aha, yes thanks! I only started with Power BI this Monday, so don't mind admitting being clueless 😄
Is there a way to format the default tooltip on a multi-line graph? I'm trying to re-order the values in the tool tip, so that the most recent year shows first. So just reversing the existing order, not creating a custom order.
Many tahnks,
Mike
Hi @PBIMike
have a look at this technique https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-tooltips
