Moving between different dataflows

Hi,

I have a question on how you would handle different environments with desktop.

I have three dataflows each with the same tables but different data for Dev to Prod.

I will do my development in Desktop with the Dev dataflow.

When I am ready to move to the prod dataflow how would I easily switch to the Prod dataflow?

I know I could swap the M code from Dev to Prod dataflow but if I have lots of tables this would become very time-consuming.

Any help would be great.

@Anonymous great question and I'm doing it for many years now. I usually store Dataflow and Workspace guid as parameters and use that in tables, and once ready to switch to production or back to development, I just change these values and everything works.

You have to do this one time and then it will be very easy.

@Anonymous I, in fact, get guid from connected tenant and filter workspace and dataflows with their name and then store their guid to use in respective queries, it helps not to manually get guid but get it from the dataflow tables itself and it makes it super easy.

Generally you would do that with Query parameters but unsure about how that would work with dataflows...
