Move data file to another location / Permission to New User to edit Report

Hi all. I have the following situation and I am trying to find the best way to deal with it.

I have created a Power Bi report, the data come from an .xls file which is stored in my personal OneDrive and the report (and associated Dashboard) is published in My Workspace.

Various members of my team have access to the Dashboard and the Report in My Workspace.

However, I will no longer be doing any work associated with that report and a colleaugue of mine shall be responsible for updating the data in the .xls file and accordingly refresh the Power Bi report.

My understanding is that what I will (at least) need to do is:

(a) copy the .xls file from my OneDrive to a shared SharePoint site so that my colleaugue has access and be able to update it;

(b) connect the Power Bi report to the new .xls file (the one in the SharePoint location) and accordingly update all the visuals in the Power Bi report.

However, I am not sure if my colleugue will be able to publish the updated report into My Workspace? Shall I create a new workspace?

Any suggestions are welcome!

@Anonymous first and foremost, My Workspace is not a recommended method of sharing Power BI artifacts. So you need to create a workspace and add uses to that workspace who need access.

Regarding the file, you are on track with that.
