Move Model View on Top

Hi,

I'm reviewing some power bi files and several of them were created at the bottom of the dashboard as shown.

So when I add something I need to drag all of them at the bottom which is tedious work if you have loads of things.

Any idea how to move the existing stuffs with the connections on top?

You have tables selected.

Folders are for the columns inside of tables.

A visual glitch, swap back to Report view and then to Model view and it should fix itself.

I think @aduguid has nailed it, layouts save what and where you saved things.

On a side note you can hold CTRL and select multiple tables in the data pane.

Then drag them back onto the layout to instantly move them.

That way you don't have to scroll and drag up.

Do I need to do the connections individually when I moved them into the new layout?

All the relationships will remain no matter which layout they are created. If you right click on the table header, you can select show related tables.

First time using layout... is this normal the connections are not touching the boxes unlike on all tables?

@tksnota You can in the Model view:

  • Move/delete/format multiple measures between tables
  • Format/Folder multiple columns in the same table
  • Add descriptions and folders to columns from multiple different table

Layouts reflect changed made on any other page.
They are simply there to help our brains understad the complicated relationships.

So layouts on your "All tables" page will automatically appear on other pages.

I don't know how create folders in the model view. Please teach me how to do it?

Select the columns (or measures) within the table.
In the Properties pane type a name into Display Folder
