I have a date table with Year, Month, Year Month
When I put Year Month into my chart it appears to sort the data based on the highest values from the data and not in chronological order.
Year Month has a data type of text (which I assume is part of the problem)

If you hover over your Visual, you should see an ellipsis (3 dots ....) in the top right corner.
Click on this elipsis and select sort axis. Then sort by Year-Month in Ascending Order.
This should solve your issue.
