Hi all
i have a date column and from that column i extract month and year like this
Extract Month Name
Month Name = FORMAT (Data[Date Main], "MMM" )Extract year
Year = YEAR(Data[Date Main])
Extract Month Number
Month = MONTH(Data[Date Main])in table month number and month are sorted .. but when i try to click sort by columns --- >then click on Month then this shows an error
"A circular dependecy was detected : Data[Month Name],Data[Month], Data[Month Name]"
whereas month name are sorted in Month Name column..
and when i create bar chart and drag Month Name then Month Name sorting is disturbed ..
like this
how i sort MOnth Name .
@Anonymous
Select month name in DAte Table,
then select column tools , under that select Sort by Column and select Month Number Column

Did you perhaps chose to sort column [Month] by column [Month Name]?
in Month there is numbers and in month name there is names like jan, feb.. so i have to choose number column when i select name column @TODEI
What I meant is that you can' sort column [Month] by column [Month name] and at the same time sort column [Month name] by column [Month].
Make sure that you only sort one way, not both ways.
then what should i do
