My Power BI Desktop file is connected to a Power BI dataset in the Power BI service. The dataset does not have the MONTH NAME but the MONTH NUMBER. Since I am connected to the Power BI dataset I cannot create a calculated column.
I need to create a measure that gives me the month name. Is this possible?
Regards
hi,
you can try this:
Month Name =
VAR n = SELECTEDVALUE('Table'[Month Number])
RETURN
IF(
n > 0 && n < 13 ,
FORMAT(DATEVALUE("2019-" & n & "-1") , "MMM") ,
"Other"
)here is the PBI file:
