Model not loading

Here is an interesting issue which has only started happening in the past couple of days. I currently have a document saved in a shared file space with a data set in Excel also in the same space. When I try to refresh the data it gets stuck on "Creating connection to model ..." on the refresh pop up and wont change even after 30 mins!

I have tried deleting all the relationships in the model view, changing the source of the documents to my desktop instead of the shared drive and yet nothing has changed.

Can anyone help with this?

Hi, @Austen229022

Make sure your Excel and other Microsoft Office applications are up to date. Sometimes, such issues can be fixed by updating the software.

You can try to repair your Office installation. In Windows, you can do this from the Programs and Features control panel. Right-click Microsoft Office in the list of programs and select Change. Then, select "Quick Repair" or "Online Repair".
Check the data connections to make sure that the data connections in the workbook are configured correctly. You can do this by going to the "Data" tab and selecting "Connect". Check the properties of each connection to make sure they are correct.
Rebuild the model, and if none of the above solutions work, you may need to rebuild the model. The model may be damaged in some way.
Remember to always keep a backup of your files before making any significant changes.

@Austen229022 , Please try to add the data in the new file and check if that is loading. If that is loading then go to Files -> Options and Setting -> Options -> Laod Data Clear the various Cache you have and try again
