Missing "Query Refresh" Button in Power BI Desktop Version 2.146.1133

Subject: Missing "Query Refresh" Button in Power BI Desktop Version 2.146.1133

Body:

Hi everyone,

I've recently updated to Power BI Desktop version 2.146.1133 and noticed that the "Query Refresh" button seems to be missing from the usual location in the ribbon. I've checked the Home tab, the Transform Data section, and even tried customizing the ribbon via File → Options → Customize Ribbon, but I can't seem to locate it.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the latest update? Is this a UI redesign, a bug, or something that needs to be re-enabled manually?

Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Raees

The "Query Refresh" button is missing in Power BI Desktop v2.146.1133 due to a UI bug, especially in Dark Mode.
Switch to Light Theme or maximize the window to make it reappear.
You can still use Ctrl + R to refresh queries manually.

Hi @AbdulRaees
Thanks for raising this query in Fabric Community Forum !!

  • Unfortunately, the current Power Query interface has some theme-related issues in the latest release. Switching the theme from Dark (or Default) to Light/Legacy may temporarily bring back the missing Refresh Preview button.

  • As a workaround, you can still refresh the preview manually by pressing Ctrl + R inside the Power Query Edit or it’s not ideal, but it works until the issue is fixed.

  • Also, please make sure you’re running the latest version of Power BI Desktop, as these kinds of bugs are often addressed in subsequent patches. If the problem persists, reinstalling Power BI Desktop from the official Microsoft download page may help.

Hope this helps !!
