Hi,
I'm trying to merge my transaction master table with the product category table based on the product code. The issue is the transaction table is using the direct query to retrieve data and my prod category table is a manual table I created inside the Power BI desktop. Is there any word around I can use to merge these two tables without importing the transaction table.
TIA

Hi Tia,
I don't think this would be possible as the DQ is run against source.
You could try to creat a new query by right click on you DQ and select the "Reference" option, then see if you use this new query in your merge however if this works, I think the mechanics of it will be basically loading the output of your DQ anyway which seems inefficient andf you may as well load the DQ in the first place.
I've just done a quick google search and found this which looks like what you want however as there's no pic of the model, it's difficult to see how this is working.
Would be interested to know if you have any success with either option.
