Hi,
I am currently trying to filter out all rows that show $0.00 under the Total AR column. Below are screenshots of the before and after.
I highlighted the Visit Description data but there would be text there normally.
After applying the filter, the table loads slower than usual then this message pops up.
Do DAX operations affect this memory issue? Total AR is a measure that is calculated by taking the sum of another measure and a calculated column, but if this measure is able to display quickly then wouldn't the filter in the side pane be a simple operation to not show anything that says 0?
Thanks
Hi,
Share the link from where i can download the PBI file.
@Ashish_Mathur
Hi, this project contains a lot of PHI so i need to be very careful with sharing the project, are there any other details i can provide you to help with the troubleshooting?
Without the file, i will not be able to help.
@Anonymous yes DAX operations can have a performance impace and memory issue. There could be many reasons, mainly:
- how your data model looks like (relationship between tables)
- what kind of dax expression is used in the measure?
There are many videos/blogs on performance tuning which does address these kinds of issues. Just google it.

Hi,
This is my measure
Total AR = SUM(ChargeDetail[PatientBalance]) + [Insurancebalancefinal]
and
Insurancebalancefinal = sum(ChargeDetail[expectedcharge]) - [patientpayment] - [insurancepayment]patientpayment = calculate(sum(PaymentDetails[PaymentAmount]),Payments[PaymentSource] = 1)insurancepayment = calculate(sum(PaymentDetails[PaymentAmount]), Payments[PaymentSource] = 2)
There is many to many relationship between ChargeDetail and PaymentDetails tables
