Measurement

I have this three tables.

The (% of Total Lives) table is not showing the correct percentage when I write a measurement to divide the numbers in (Submitted Lives Count) to the Total from (Submitted Lives by Product) table.

this is the measurement I have for the Total Lives Table (

DIVIDE(COUNTA('Underwriting - PowerTerm (NI)'[POLICY_NUM]), [Total])

I don't know where those percentage come from.

Someone please help.

Hi @fbostan1 ,

It sounds like you are trying to calculate the percentage of total lives in Power BI. There are different ways to do this, depending on the context and the data model you have. One possible solution is to use the Show value as option in the table visual and select Percent of grand total. Another possible solution is to create a measure using the DIVIDE function and the ALL function to ignore any filters on the table. For example:

Percent of Total Lives = DIVIDE(COUNTA('underwriting - powerterm (ni)'[policy_num]), CALCULATE(COUNTA('underwriting - powerterm (ni)'[policy_num]), ALL('underwriting - powerterm (ni)')))

If you still have doubts, please let me know the answers to the questions below.

Your three tables are three matrices, right?

What's your raw data?

And I think your [Total] is a measure, how is the measure written?

Stephen Tao

The problem I have in my measure is that table (% of Total Lives) is adding all the numbers from table (Submitted Lives Count) instead of just taking 17,759 divide by 376,861.

PowerTerm total and PrecisionTerm Total are two seperate table and they don't have any relationship.
